Here's my question/conern:
I just got hired into a finance firm, and I work in a CUBICLE for about 8 to 10 hours each day. Sitting about 7 feet behind me is a very large and NOISY printer that has an internal fan running all day inside of it. I try to ignore it, but it hurts my ears after a while. I asked my manager if the printer can be moved to another location. She said no, but did offer me the option to switch MY location. So, I tried out the new spot. The new cubicle wasn't without IT'S fair share of problems. The A/C made the spot very chilly, and, since it is away from the printer, you can now clearly hear the office's fluxtuating A/C system- sounds like "brrrrrrr, ::pause::, brrrrrrr, ::pause, brrrrr..." So, now I have a dilemma. Stay with the Printer, or move to icy-annoying land. I am afraid that if I move, I will find the new spot as WORSE, and then the OLD spot (next to the printer) will be taken up by another.Suggestions?

I would suggest to stay by the printer only because if you work under the A/C vent you will then get sick and be out of work, been there, meaning a printer and even a very annoying co-worker that never shut her mouth for 8 hours of the day, and got away with that as well. Good Luck!!!!

Stay with the printer. Sooner or later you will get use to the noise. Rather than you sit in the chiller cubicle.

Put earphone and listen to music/radio. Dont bother so much and concentrate on your work.

Good luck.

I'd say stay by the printer. maybe bring in a small radio or mp3 player that you can listen to to drown out the fan noise. If you move to the cold cube, you will regret that come winter!

Stay where you are at.

The fan should not be running all day long. Put in a request to have the printer fixed.

If they will not get it fixed, you will evetually block it out as outside noise.

You won't hear the printer after a while (a few weeks). It will just become background noise.

Stay with the printer. You'll get used to it eventually and if you move where its cold it will never get any better.
