I prefer Stephen Kings old stuff to Dean Koontz, but following Misery, Stephen King seemed to be writing to just turn out books. Even the gunslinger series sort of got boring in the end. The cell was back to Kings old writing style, but Liseys story started out cr*p but ended up good. Overall I would say Koontz, but book for book I would say I enjoyed It and The Stand more than anything Koontz ever wrote

I would have to say I like Dean Koontz a little bit better but I have been reading King longer. Koontz does not always write the same type of book. His typical book can stare the pants off me but when he write the mystery type he still keeps my attention. Some of my favorite non-horor books of his are Dark Rivers of the Heart and False Memory. I have not read many of King's recent books though.

Oh my God, Dean Koontz is so much better. I've read books from both authors and Koontz books are best. They have more emotion in them and are a combination of love stories, adventure stories, and weird sci-fi stories. You can't beat that!

I like them both a lot - I've read everything by both of them - but I think I'd put King above Koontz. His novels seem to have more layers, deeper meaing. He makes me think more.

Koontz wrote Forever Odd, right? I'm reading that right now. I really like it--a little funny and creepy.

I tend to like Stephen King more. He seems a bit better at making you care about the characters and make you feel their lose if something bad happens to them. I like that extra character development.
