My friends have a great band but they are very bad about promoting. They need help getting their name out any ideas? I would like to give it a shot but I don't know where to start. dude.... myspace works but you also might wanna try your local coffee shops, small papers, and even the local radio stations... alot of local stations have nights when they play only local music... like up and coming stuff...... and some small clubs have open mike nights.... put up some flyers at the local high school and other local hangouts and get alot of people to come to a small show...... the club will like it cuz they're gettin $$$ too.

One way out suggestion, get arrested for obscenity during a gig. Make sure you arrange for a reporter and photographer to be there. You may have to ring the police and complain yourself.

Drop off fliers, send emails to all your friends, stuff like that.
