Popular music becomes popular if the radio stations decide to popularize it. Just listen to what they play today, they'll play the same sh** tomorow.
Or go on myspace.com and look dig a bit. But if you can find tomorows hit music: why is it not hit music today... you're more likely to find today's independent music than tomorows hit music !!!

if u have itunes (a program for ipods, u can download off apple website) search through the imixes, there are a ton of songs that aren't known/popular yet :)
