Per the Judeo/Christian Bible, "no."
But most people who claim themselves to be Christian in this country don't practice what they preach. The rate of divorce alone demonstrates that point. From a "civil" perspective, why not? They can't do any worse than what the heterosexuals have done.
From my own perspective, "no."

I purely ought to snicker out loud on the idea of marriage being a non secular time period and therefor gays could not get married. So, are all married people Catholic? non secular? hardly ever! OH, it really is one of those hysterical argument. besides, there is this little ingredient in our us of a said as seperation of church and state. faith (any faith) does not dictate regulation. anybody who's in love, over 18, not hurting themselves or anybody else, and by no potential proper must have the right to get married. end OF tale. The monetary device received't crumple, there'll be no adverse consequences on society or on immediately married couples.

Here is my answer to almost exactly the same question posted just a little while ago.
My opinion on gay marriage is that, if I were to vote on it, my vote would be that I would legalize it. I am gay. I want equal respect and the same rights as everyone else.
It's really all about what I just said. And it's about the belief that no one chooses to be gay. I didn't choose it. I realized that I am and I accepted what I am.
It is not morally wrong, in and of itself. And it would not be politically wrong, ......
IF
.... it were proactively legalized by the voters or by the legislature(s).
But it is both morally wrong and politically wrong for the courts to legalize it. I am absolutely convinced that the judges in Massachusetts were liars. And a lie is both morally and politically wrong.

Immoral to say the least. If a gay should marry he/she should do it with the opposit sex. Now, youll be told that you are so conservative, but marriage is design for couple who can procreate. For their union, thats their choice and they should do it without the benefit of marriage.

I believe that people of the same sex that love each other should be able to join in some sort of matrimony. I think that it should be legal for them to get the same tax breaks as other people who are married.

there isn't anything on this earth that should prevent gays from having same sex marriages
remember its SAME SEX marriages. GAYS can get married. they are not forbidden to. They just cant marry the same sex
edit to add:
those answering that gay couples would raise gay children are ignorant at best.
if that were true, then heterosexual couples wouldn't have children who turn out to be gay; yet there are.

I can't think of any reason to not legalize gay marriage...bigotry is the only thing stopping it.

the BIBLE says man and woman. i personally think that if you want to be with a paticular person, than just be with that person,, unfortunately people as a whole will never accept it, soooo don't tell people what you do in your bedroom and we won't judge ya
