Perform a System Restore operation.

Click START Button>> ALL PROGRAMS >> ACCESSORIES>> SYSTEM TOOLS >> SYSTEM RESTORE

Choose to restore the computer to an earlier time. Click Next. Select a proper restore date. Restore the system.

This should help.

Be careful what advice you take on any question board...and follow the one that makes sense. You DO NOT need to change your computer, or restore, etc.
You just need to make some changes in the Outlook Express program only.

INSTRUCTIONS I wrote for you:

Your Outlook Express has features that allow you to change it's appearance, and change back if you like.

1. Open Outlook Express > RIGHT click in a blank space on the top tool bar >
select CUSTOMIZE
You will find a window with a wide selection of buttons for functions you can add or remove.
You add by selecting from the left panel >
then clicking the Add button. Folders should go to right panel, and will appear in our tool bar.

2. Select FOLDERS > click Add
3. Select CONTACTS > click Add
4. Click CLOSE

5. You should be able to see these buttons on the tool bar OR
click the tool bar little side arrow
(to view the extended tool bar buttons)
NOW you should be able to see Folders, etc.

6. Click FOLDERS, and it will show a left side panel with your Inbox, Sent box, Deleted Box, etc.

7. Click CONTACTS, and it will show a left side panel (below the Folders panel)
with the names of all your contacts in your address book.

8. To close Folders or Contacts, just click the little X for each one. To get them back, repeat the above.

Copy these instructions to a WORD document, save in your MyDocuments...you'll likely need them once again.

For other features in Outlook Express
don't forget to utilize the button HELP > Index.
You will be amazed what you can do in this program, if you read the Help section.
Come back if you need more help.

Open your outlook express. ON the menu bar, go to View. Choose Layout. Click on all your basic boxes and you will have everything you did when you first started up. I like the Contacts, Folder Bar, Status Bar, Folder List, and toolbar. I do not use the preview pane, it can open mail that have viruses without giving you a choice.

You just made it big. You can go to prefferences it will allow you to re configure the look of Outlook express. I just use this Yahoo mail it works better but I have Outlook. It is the real versin. Express is the free version. It works poorly. Try just using the Yahoo mail.

View--Layout, will lead to all the settings and appearance, you just
need to check off the items, until you get it back to where it was.

No biggie, no need for a restore :o
