I've been seeing them in stores. I just wondered if anyone couldn't wait until after Thanksgiving to put them up at home.

Please, I don't mean any offense if you celebrate a different holiday. Thanks.

My husband was cleaning out the garage (yeah!) and found our Christmas doormat. It has snowmen playing musical instruments. (Actually, we have lots of decorations still in storage with snowmen on them. We live in an unsnowy part of California. Pretend snow is much easier to live with than the real thing.) Anyway, hubby put out the doormat last weekend. If we didn't have a young child, I don't think he would have done it. Sometimes he's crochety.

The last few years we've bought our tree from a local Christmas tree farm where we can cut it ourselves. We tend to buy late and keep it up until Epiphany. (I think I just like to bug other people who are in a rush to take their trees down. "What, your tree is still up?")

We've bought two or three containers of eggnog already too, but don't add the booze.

It still feels too early for the doormat. Sigh.

I am crazy about Christmas. Every year it takes a lot of restraint for me to wait until Thanksgiving. So far, so good this year!
We did just move to a new apartment last month and have less storage space, so yesterday I pulled out all of the decorations and discarded as much as I could. I then packed it back up and stuck it in the closet (until next weekend :).
My mother is even worse. She decorated for Halloween this year, in the middle of September! Dad was so embarrassed he tried to pretend he didn't live there. lol

Not yet. The closest I've gotten is I bought two holiday bottles of Softsoap foaming hand wash, one with a snowman & the other has snowflakes on it. I just lugged the Halloween tote to the shed & brought in the Christmas ones. None of it will go up until the day after Thanksgiving. That's been a tradition in my family since I was a child & I'm continuing it with my son. I hope he continues it with his kids later on in life.

My mom's neighbor has her stuff out indoors & put it out on my son's bday, Nov 12. Too early for me!

We've started putting up some Christmas lights on the house but won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving.

I personally want to wait until december... some people have there decoratiopns up....thinking about putting lights up but not lighting them for a while. I don't know it's nicer to wait a while...so the whole christmas feeling doesn't wear thin. the stores put christmas stuff out as soon as possible.. they would put it up in july if they thought it would sell;)
