What's the difference between a novel and a book?
- A novel is a specific kind of book, generally accepted to be fictional and have a plot. A book is any bound information storage device, generally printed on sheets of paper.

How old are you before it can be said you died of old age?
- This is completely subjective. I would say within 5 years of the average lifespan for humans in your county (in the US, 71 for men and 73 for women).

If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still show it?
- Called my friend who worked in a theater. No they don't.

If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?
-Yes and no. In the US, surface ownership doesn't confer mineral or water rights. HOWEVER, as long as you aren't interfering with either and there are no local zoning or drainage restrictions (or an HOA) no one can tell you how deep of a hole you can dig, so....

If you have a cold hot pocket, is it just a pocket?
- No. Since "Hot Pocket" is a brand name, you would still have a Hot Pocket.

If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?
- The EXACT species from which we evolved no longer are. Incidently, if the population of a given animal is somehow split geographically, part of it may evolve, leaving the rest in tact... so there is no reason that the mokeys we evolved from couldn't still be around, but in this instance natural selection had other ideas.

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
- Two reasons. First, the bottle prevents the glue from drying. I assure you that if you took the lid off and let it dry out, it would stick to the bottle to some extent. However, that brings us to the second reason, which is that glue is stored in bottles made of smooth, nonporous material to which glue has a lot of trouble adhering. They do this for the express reason of keeping it from sticking to the bottle.

Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really its coming on?
- One of the millions of English coloquialisms which have come to be so accepted as to be a part of the language.

* What's the difference between a novel and a book?
Novels are generally long books. Books can be short or long.

* How old are you before it can be said you died of old age?
Unless you have Progeria (the disease where you age very rapidly and die in your early teens), usually at least 70 or so. But this varies depending on the average lifespan of your culture. During ancient times and in some African countries today, living to age 50 could be considered old.

* If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still show it?
Yes. There's always the chance that some viewers might come in late. And they can't start it late because they have a schedule to stick to.

* If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?
Sorry, no. Most countries and localities have laws and/or treaties stipulating that the property you own only goes so far under and above ground. This is to provide common "rights of way" for stuff like pipes underground or planes flying overhead.

* If you have a cold hot pocket, is it just a pocket?
You'd think the two would cancel out, but no, you just have a gross-tasting (until it's cooked) filled pastry.

* If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?
The answer is because we did not evolve from the monkey or ape species that are around today, but rather we had a common hominid ancestor which branched off at some time in the past.
Now stop buying into the creationist propaganda. Creationists are either proof of human descent from monkeys, seeing as how they are so incredibly retarded, or they are deliberate liars spreading misinformation. (And I have seen plenty of both.)

* Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
Actually, it does--but only a very thin coating of it. This is enough, though, to keep the rest of the glue inside liquid.

* Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really its coming on?
Because the English language was evolved, not designed, and as such has many quirks and irregularities. I before E except after C? Where's the logic in that???

All EXCELLENT!

Okay, here I go...

What's the difference between a novel and a book?

23 pages.

How old are you before it can be said you died of old age?

42 (shifts with every birthday though, so this one is in fact difficult to nail down basically take your age and add 10 or so.)

If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still show it?

Yes. Penalizing the late comers just in case.

If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?

No, there's some government infrastructure in place that actually thought of this one, can't remember what it is exactly, but 'no'.

If you have a cold hot pocket, is it just a pocket?

Yes.

If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?

Some were wise enough to stay put. The rest went on to become the laughing stock of monkeydom... humans. (why are chimps always grinning?)

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

It does. Air dries it out and cements it. Remember kids: PUT THE CAP BACK ON!

Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really its coming on?

'cause it set ME off when it does! dumb alarm clock buzzing at me three or four times every morning... man! I hate that thing.

And that's it.

g'night.

How fun!!
1. The difference between a novel and a book is the price.
2. You have to be a senior citizen to die of old age. Every time I want to get benefits they raise the age requirement, so some day no one will die of old age.
3. Actually yes they do. Just to maintain the advertised schedules.
4. Nope unless you own the mineral rights that will delineate the depth you can claim, you only own what sticks to your shoes.
5. No it's a cold pocket. And, if you put it in your pocket it becomes a messy pocket.
6. The monkeys or the humans?
7. For the same reason it doesn't stick to the outside of the bottle.
8. My alarm clock goes off - off the table and onto the floor anytime it rings.

A book is a physical object, with front and back covers and pages that may contain ANY type of information. A novel, on the other hand, is a work of fiction that may be printed in book form or may be presented in other formats.

If you are over 60 and no other reason is apparent, then your death is attributed to "old age."

Movies are shown at their appointed times regardless of ticket sales.

As no one has made it to the center of the earth, this question is irrelevant. But technically, the answer is no. Owners merely own access to the lower reaches, though if resources are discovered under a parcel of land, generally the owner has some part in their extraction.

If you have a cold pocket, put it in the microwave. It isn't a pocket at any temperature, but a conglomeration of poorly immitated food particles wrapped in a pastry-like substance.

Who is the "they" you refer to, the humans or the apes? This question is a scientific and not a philosophical question.

Glue becomes tacky and eventually hardens when exposed to the air for an extended period of time. Until then, it remains in liquid form and can be moved without sticking.

This is probably a throw back to the phrase "sounding off," which also refers to loud noise. Also, refering to the clock in that way is a regional thing. Not everyone says "going off," some say "coming on" or just "on."

All novels are books but not all are novels.

It depends on where in the world you are.

No

No

Hot pocket is a brand hot or cold.

Darwin did not say that we evolved from apes. He said Man and apes had the same origins.

Glass or plastic? And it does matter.

Shoot the alarm clock.

A book has pages filled with words; a nove has pages filled with timeless words
You must die of natural causes to be considered of dying of old age. A seventy year old who crashes thier vet goin 123mph is still considered young at heart.
No they only show the trailers of the next box office hopefuls
No you must purchase the property beneath you. Example people own the space above the buildings purchased in New York years ago now all those skyscraper owners are either renting or have bought the "air" space.
No if you have a cold hot pocket it is considered a cold pocket
Some of us primates are late bloomers
I have not heard of the phenomenon of glue not sticking in a bottle
Because when it rings I send it flying "off" the nightstand.

a novel refers to a work of fiction and a book is any work of literature.
Generally I would go with the average age as reflected by statistics - unfortunately I know very young people who die of :old age"
No
No it is the surface only otherwise we could ask if they own it all the way to the other side of the world
Yes
Because the progression occured in some and not in others
Because it is the presence of air that gels it to the stickiness
Exactly about the alarm clock -

these were fun
Thanx

What's the difference between a novel and a book?

"End of Faith" by Sam Harris could never be considered a novel: as there is factual content that is organized in a logical and formatted pattern, so as to inform the reader of the author's intentions, in this case, why religion is destroying the world, so it is a book. "The Great Gatsby" by Fitzgerald is clearly a novel, but also a book as it informs the reader of the author's intentions, yet the difference is in the complex and original plot, patterning of events, and narrative. There are literary devices implemented to exemplify prose and to tell a fictitious story. Books can be novels and novels can be books, but some books are just books, and could never be a novel by definition. (if not yet elucidated, could your biology textbook ever be novel? no, it certainly could not.)

How old are you before it can be said you died of old age?

no one really dies of old age, "age" itself is not capable of killing anyone. Before I answer this question, I should give a basic definition for an "old person." an old person is someone who exhibits qualities of incompetence in physical health, mental health as a result of aging- (Alzheimer’s only comes with old age, it is a disease attributed to old age, osteoporosis only comes with old age, it renders a woman incompetent in old age, arthritis, etc.) Usually when an obituary uses the term "died of old age" they are being euphemistic: for example, many old people die because they fall. that is certainly not a dignified way to die, so the family will often put, "they died of natural causes, or "old age."' Or, sometimes hearts just give out. Hearts are not designed to last forever, which can cause a heart attack to a person who is seemingly in good cardiovascular health. hence, they died of "old age," as opposed to a person who dies of congestive heart failure because they smoke too much.

If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still show it?

Yes, because the theater people can never be sure if people are intending to arrive to the film late.

If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?

No, coal companies and other various and similar interest groups can actually have legal sanctions for what lies beneath your plot of land. If a coal company has reason to believe there is a coal strip under your house and they had already established interest that land area, they can evacuate you from your land. And even if that isn’t the case for the land in question, yes, you could own it to the center of the earth, but why would that be important

If you have a cold hot pocket, is it just a pocket?

No, it is a cold Hot Pocket brand pocket sandwich.

If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?
This question is the only reason I bothered answering any of the others. First of all, in no way, shape, or form did humans ever evolve from monkeys. Monkeys are a separate species from humans and apes, and never ever did one delineate from the other. If you will notice, monkeys have tails, apes and humans do not. Do not categorize apes and monkeys together in an evolutionary aspect. Secondly, humans did not evolve from any of the apes you see at the zoo today. Orangutans, Gorillas, chimpanzees, and bonobos( the four great ape categories) are all delineated from a common ancestor SHARED by humans. The evolutionary map is not like a “family tree-“ it is more like a wild and crazy bush. We evolved from “ape like” hominids- creatures like the australopithecine(Lucy), the homo Erectus, homo Habilis, etc. (never the Neanderthal, we did not evolve from the Neanderthal) These early hominids had more ape like qualities because they evolved from a creature very much like the orangutans of today, but not an orangutan. Humans and apes took divergent paths, but the reason we have such similar DNA is because we do have common lineage, but it is only common lineage. Apes are more like our cousins. Not our parents.

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Glue will stick to the inside of the bottle if it is exposed to enough air, but often there will be a “Teflon” like material that will keep the glue from sticking to the bottle. The new question that arises from this answer is, “how do they get the anti-stick coating to stick to the surface to begin with?” that, I do not know.

Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really it’s coming on?

The sound of the alarm is “sounding off.” “Off” can also be defined as “coming or branching out from.” For example, “The McDonalds is off of Orange Street. It is just part of our vernacular to use “off” in this form. “I get off on oral sex.” Etc.
