I have some stamps - some which date back all the way to 1912 and I want to know where I can get them appraised or an honest place to sell them online.

First, please read the excellent article on exactly this subject at http://www.virtualstampclub.com/inherit.html - it goes into a lot more detail than I can possibly write here.
There is a lot of information available on things like locations of stamp clubs, stamp shows, and dealers at http://www.stamps.org - the information there should help you a lot. Any dealer listed there is a member of the American Philatelic Society and so can be assumed to be trustworthy - APS polices its ranks rather effectively.

Don't know where you could get them appraised, but to sell I'd say eBay :) Good luck!!
