okay i have a laptop (dell inspiron 1150) im going to give to my mom because im getting a macbook for christmas it works in every thing except i keep getting some so called blue screen of death. please help what do i do?

do a complete format and reload and make sure you load all your drivers and get all updates not just the critical ones

the blue screen of death is usually due to some bad drivers. Do a repair install of windows, make sure all your drivers are up to date, defrag the hard drive, get rid of temp files, run antispyware and antivirus before you give it to your mom.

Format and install linux!
try ubuntu.com
Windows is just terrible!
Ubuntu will do perfect for a first time user as it has everything windows doesnt by default!

format reload the operating system on the computer and up the ram some, say at least 256 mgs or more.
