The in crowd was written by billy page and performed by Phantom Planet

i cannot find that song on the soundtrack, but the "in' crowd was done by lenny miles in 1961, ramsey lewis trio in 1965 ( probably the most famous), and dobie gray in 1965. there may be newer versions however.
