I have a couple questions. I am not yet done applying to all the colleges I want to apply to yet. My school /teacher recommendations are from another state( actually across the country) I need to send them soon or else they won't get them in time. Colleges recieve teacher recommendations etc seperate from the application right ? ( i'm applying online) Do i have to TOTALLY finish my applicatin and submit it BEFORE I send out the request for the recommendations? Someone told me I need to finish my applications totally before People submit recommendations for me. Please help!!!

I'm currently applying to College myself, and I agree that it's a difficult process in itself.

When I applied to Cornell, I submitted the Common Application (online), by November 1st, and the teacher recs were also submitted (by my teachers) by November 1st.

What this means is, yes, they receive your recs separately, but as long as they are postmarked by the due date, it's fine.

Remember, colleges receive hundreds or thousands of candidates each year. They definitely need time to collect and sort through all the applications.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
