We all know being unique is ok but Im TOO unique! Im 11 years old and I have intrests and wonders about how people really came to be and sometimes the world feels like a dream. I am HORRIBLE at making friends because Im EXTREMELY SHY. I mean- I must be the shy'est peron in the history of the world! I can barely get the courage to say something at lunch to my own friends! I feel like people dont really like me because of some special reason that I dont know about.. HOW CAN I STOP BEING SO SHY!!??

i was like this I would only talk to people if they talked to me then only really short answers even to my friends. I guess I grew out of it a bit I had a few more outgoing friends and just spending time with them helped me. Good luck

I know how you feel. I never went to a public school I went to a very small private school so I was always very uncomfortable around large groups of people. I am still shy and sometimes come across as rude or bitchy. I am 26 and just since I turned 21 or so have gotten better at it. I am really sorry cause I know how hard it is. I would always worry that I would say something stupid and they would think I was weird. I always over anazlyed every situation and thought everyone was always watching and judging. It was only when I got older that I realized they arent and they dont care. So I can't give you much advice except to say that it will get better.

Sometimes the people who would tell you to go ahead and speak up for yourself don't understand that there's a reason why your God-given common sense tells you to be quiet. There's nothing wrong with being a quiet and/or thoughtful individual, and saving your thoughts to share only with someone who wins your trust.
Perhaps you might consider being a friend to someone else who's shy, who needn't be afraid of you, and work your way up one person at a time.

This may sound really weird but you have to practice talking. Start with a couple friends and work your way up to answering questions in class. I used to be extremely shy. My friends that didn't know me then can't believe it because I talk so much. You need to get used to talking.

Hey, body language is more important than verbal you know. Get your head up and smile, that's all. You'll get all sorts of approach I tell you. From a kind eye to a nice smile coming your way. Dont think too much about your shyness as it would only heightens your awareness to it. Solutions is smile, smile and smile...and of course a sincere 'Hi'...
