I have a large red dot on my inner bicep and a bunch of little red dots leading to my armpit. It stings a bit, could it just be mat burn. If it is a rash of some type what do I do to treat it?

could be that you pinched the skin there or irritated it. rubbing will usually chaffe (sp?) an area of skin. But... if you have litle dots leading to your arm pit, it could be a rash. Don't wait too long if it continues just go get it checked out, why take chances? If it itches benadryl will help but... I would check with your doctor before taking any meds. I think there is a benadryl lotion. (funny as it sounds) Desitin (used for babies when they get a diaper rash) works really well.

When I was in high school, all of the wrestlers got ringworm one season from the mats. I think it's more common than you'd think, if the mats aren't cleaned every day. Here's a website with a description. Good luck!

It may be a staph infection, which is contagious. Don't wrestle until you have it looked at.
