Think about what draws you to nursing--are you going to be the first nurse in your family? Do you like to care for people and see the reward? Do you like to know that you can help the world?
My advice:
I. Why nursing is interesting to me
II. My past--did you play doctor? Were you interested in the doctors when your sister broke her wrist?
III. The present--why you should go to that school to study nursing. Have you done research?
IV. The future--what sort of nursing do you want to do? NICU? ICU? What? Explain why you want to go into that specific nursing? Do you want to use your nursing experience and take it to help others in poorer countries?
V. Reiterate why you love to care for people and why you want to make this your career.

What does nursing mean to you? I don’t mean the chance to help people; every single doctor and nurse has that feeling (or they claim to) or they wouldn’t be interested in the profession in the first place.
What type of nursing profession do you want to go into? Do you want to work with the elderly, children or cancer patients? Do you want to be a surgical nurse or an ER nurse? What are has your stronger interest, what do you envision yourself doing as a nurse? Where do your interests lie?
What could you do as a nurse, more importantly what unique or special skills could you bring to the profession? Do you have a strong empathy with people, do you get along with people well, and if so how? Are you good with children or old people, can you establish a special rapport with them?
Why should the college accept you? A lot of people have excellent grades; many have better grades than you do. Why should the college of your choice overlook these other candidates and select you? This will be the toughest question to answer. How can you be a better nurse than those other candidates?
Do you have any objective qualities or tests that you can use to prove your case? Have you done a science fair project on a medical subject? Have you taken an achievement test and done exceptionally well in an area relating to nursing? In my case I scored 92% on spacial relations (handling images, taking objects and unfolding them in your mind) and important skill for architecture. Have you every volunteered as a nurse trainer, a candy stripper, or just visited a hospital to learn more about it?
Why did you chose nursing over being a doctor, an anesthesiologist, or some other profession? I had a lot of dental work done as well as braces. It once made me interested in becoming a dentist. My dentist said that my experience would make me a good one because I knew how the patients would feel. My love for drafting took me in a different direction though. How did your interests lead you to nursing? You would make more money as doctor, you could have better hours as a family doctor, so why become a nurse? Don’t tell me you like changing bedpans. RNs don’t do that, but you have a long way to go before becoming an RN.
What would you do if you couldn’t be a nurse? How can that profession be related to nursing?
Once you answer these questions for yourself then pose your question again. I even know a nurse who could help you, but until you are able to answer these questions then I don’t think you should be a nurse (yes, I am issuing you a challenge). You can contact me via my avatar.

make an outline, a traditional one, not the ones they show u how to on word, like this:
I. blah blah
II. blah
a. ehe
b. rrrr
c. rririr
III. yeu[es
And so on. Make a general theisis or main idea statment such as "Nursing is essential for the country" whatever (topic I.) and then for your following topics (II,III,VI etc) , think of reasons why you think this, that support the thesis. you have to get some sources such as a book, website etc, and cite them in end notes, foot notes or in text citation if there arent a lot of sources. than organize these sources into a bibliography, if u dont already know the format for a bibliography, type it in google and websites will show u how (and no, u dont cite these websites!)
