I am making a documentry (short film) about the past 2 years and current year until July 2007,of a part of my life(I dont wish to disclose what it is though)
Any suggestions how to keep it meaty and how I should go about filming myself in public and things AND do I need peoples written permission before I film them or should it be fine just to have verbal permission.

I'm not sure where the laws are where you are. If you are out filming in public it is generally fine. If you are filming in a shopping centre you do need permission. If you are going to broadcast this documentary at some stage it is probably best to get people's permission no matter what. These are the laws where I am.

I'm not sure of how you can keep it meaty. Is your life meaty? For a documentary it has to be the truth and if it isn't always meaty then the documentary doesn't have to be. Sometimes it is best to get written authorisation for filming so that you have some legal ground to stand on if something should arise in the near future.
