I'm not even sure how to find mythological derivations to any words. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

As I understand the MYthological derivation of that particular word, it is redived, mythologically from the name of one of the three fates in Greek mythology, specifically Clotho the fate that spun the thead of life which is then woven into the tapestry of a persons life by Laechesis and cut at the end of the persons life by Atropos. The three together were known collectively as the Moirae.
