I've never played- do the characters kiss or get physical in any way? How do they get pregnant? Is there any violence?

YES.
It is too adult. All video games have rating systems. Similar to movies. E=PG. Get your nine year old daughter games that have an E in the corner(E10 is also okay). T=PG13. The Sims 2 is rated T for Teen. M=R=Mature. That is for ppl 17 and over.

In the Sims 2 they get pregnant, but they do not show the...um...process. Yes there is violence, but not anything worse than what u see on cartoons. There isn't any gore or anything. Yes there is kissing also. I'm not talking about pecks either. But i don't think the kissing is anything too inappropriate since it is just a game so it doesn't look disgusting or anything.

U should get your daughter the Sims 2 for GAME BOY ADVANCE SP or NINTENDO DS. Those are rated E! :) I own the Sims 2 on GBA(game boy advance) and NOTHING on there is inappropriate for a 9yr. old. No kissing, no getting pregnant/physical, and no violence. But the game isn't boring. U may also want to get her "Urbz: Sims in the City". I also owned that game and it was fun. :)

In the Sims2; the playable characters can kiss several different ways, either friendly or there is make-out. They can also Woohoo in bed but, you don't see much except them jumping under the covers and the covers moving all over the place. They can also do it in a dressing room or a car but, once again you don't see them, just the room or car rocking back and forth. 2 Sims can fight but, you don't have any blood, just a dust cloud where they are fighting. I suggest you play the game once yourself, that way you will know for sure if the game is inappropiate for your daughter. Myself personally, I would say she should wait at least a few more years before letting her play.
Good luck.

I think Sims 1 (The original) would suit a 9 yr old better. My autistic grandson plays it all the time, he loves it. He calls it "House". At that age about all they do is build the houses and watch the people react to what they make them do.

It isn't what the game does but what the players do with the game.
You can build houses and just watch them and make them do every day things... like swimming, etc. As children get older and start getting interested in dating, etc. they can go a step further with it.

I think it is an excellent game for kids. Sims 2 is too realistic for a 9 yr old. Too suggestive too.

My guess is yes. It is rated T for a reason, and also, on the back of the game box it will show the rating, and the reasons why it is rated.
For example: Rated T for violence, sexual images and that kinda stuff really.

I recommend getting her "Roller Coaster Tycoon" games or something. They are very fun for children her age. Though the Sims 2 actually probably teaches money management for when you are building and furnishing your house. As well as Roller Coaster Tycoon because you are organizing and managing your amusement park.

Yes it is the sims is rated TEEN and thats what it means I play the sims all the time but ALWAYS Pause when granddaughter is in room. It might make a nice game for you but not your nine year old.

i imagine it will be a suitable recreation for her. I have the entire sequence, and characteristic performed it for decades. My youthful sisters would of been about 11 even as i began taking area in, and that i taugtht them - they loved it. There fairly isnt a good purchase of sexual content fabric in it - sims do "woohoo" yet its really somewhat fireworks - this can probable be your really difficulty i assume it is fairly the way you experience about the problem

My 9 yr old niece plays it. It's not big deal. It doesn't show nudity or anything unless you install mods that allow it. It's not a big deal. 9 yr olds need to know about that stuff anyways. I know that most parents still haven't gave their children the "talk" at this age and it should've started at age 5.

There is all of that. The characters kiss and shower and die and get mad and do the birth making dance in bed, although the latter are censored. I don't think there is much violence, if any.

It's not suitable for your 9 year old daughter. Look at images found on the internet of that. My friend has the game, it is not good for your daughter. personally, I think they should've rated it 'm'.
