I live in the Atlanta area and I would like to get into modeling.
Any suggestions?
I have been told to stay away from places that ask for thousands of dollars, as they will get you nowhere.
So where do I start?

Atlanta probably has some legitimate modeling agencies where you can inquire about starting. Any agency that asks for a dime is one to stay away from. Agents earn money from getting their clients jobs and they take a percentage of that fee.

Of course, to become a model, you have to have photos. You don't say how old you are. If you are over eighteen, then you can pursue a photographer on your own or even find a friend who will shoot some snapshots of you in the type of stuff you want to model.

If you go to someone and are asked to disrobe, leave. If you go to an agency that has a 'package deal' where you purchase photos and so called lessons, leave. Watch America's Top Model and see if that's a life you really want to pursue and then, depending your energy for working hard, getting lots of rejection and disappointments, then go for it.

It's like the lottery. If you have a 'look' that someone likes, then, away you go. Whom do you see in the mirror? Christy Brinkley, Tyra Banks?.. Kate Moss!! Or do you see someone new who could beat the sox off of those girls on the Tyra Banks show?

If you are a boy.. shave your legs!

Good luck.. check your yellow pages for agencies in Atlanta.

There a lot of modeling agencies in Atlanta. Don't fall for a scam such as John Robert Powers and Barbizon.

If there is Neiman-Marcus or Saks 5th Avenue, in Atlanta, call the stores and tell the woman that answers the telephone that you want to speak to someone that can give you the names of the best modeling agencies in Atlanta. Also ask Neiman-Marcus and Saks, if they hire models.

You do NOT need an agent, as the Modeling Agency is the "Agent." If you are accepted by an agency, they will tell you if you need photographs. It depends on the type of modeling they see you doing, i.e, print, fashion showroom modeling in a store such as Saks, etc.

Being lovely sufficient to be a Model is something. However honestly being a Model is one more. 1st off, you published the identical picture two times. Models are in general taller (five'nine" on the shortest) and we do not understand how tall you're I'm guessing your approximately 15/sixteen? so you may also or might not be performed developing. Depends on the way you protect your braces are eliminated, and total whilst you're performed developing the foremost facet is... WHO YOU KNOW! When i used to be in prime college there have been a few ladies as bodily lovely as you're... none of them had been items, and to my competencies none of them have come to be items because prime college (five years have handed now).. They would possibly not have desired to or had the ardour to be a mannequin, however however what woman would not wish to be a mannequin if given the possibility? most often now not many might move on it... So that comes right down to who you recognize, what connections you will have within the enterprise, what possibilities you get, the way you manage rejection (for the reason that probabilities are your first audition, or interview, or picture's you send out may not get the gig) and the way a ways you're inclined to move with this... Modeling is plenty like performing, and occurs now not simply to those who find themselves certified, however those who find themselves within the function/crisis to be triumphant.
