Questions about the Blood Orchid...?

I know about the movie and all that but I've never seen it. I need to know all about the properties of the blood orchid. I'm thinking about writing a Harry Potter fan fiction in which Snape would need to have the flower to make a potion for their side. Can anyone give any info info to this? Maybe a good site where I can do "research" on this for my story?

I honestly don't know anything about it....

But wikipedia.org has a whole bunch of stuff there.
