The only thing I can suggest is applying for Medicaid, thats what its there for, for those that need it most. I qualified and I had a job and was making good money so if that was my case, I'm sure you will be approved. NYC state medicaid treated me right while I was pregnant, before and after my son was born, i wish you luck

You could talk with your doctor and set up a payment plan with him and the hospital or you can go and get health insurance though your local health department or social service department, which ever one handles that in your city. But if you do, this would be your chance to still go to school for nursing and get your degree so you would not have to stay on the system for long. I wish you luck and don't feel bad with you having to use the system for a moment just don't misuse it. Good luck and God bless your new family.

Try applying for medicaid. If you qualify medicaid will pay for all medical bills while you are pregnant and after the baby is born.

My husband and I don't qualify for Medicaid so we set up a payment plan with my doctor's office and the hospital. They give a discount if you can pay within a certain time frame.

Does his job provide medical insurance? Many offer coverage for a domestic partner- you do not need to be married.
You could apply for gvt. aide, or if you are under 23 and re-enroll in school you could get back on your parent's insurance.

You could get Medicaid or you could get married. If you get married your husband's insurance will cover you. If you're already living together and going to raise a child together, you should probably be married anyway.

Check with your state's welfare agency. Even if you are not on welfare, you may qualify for medicaid during pregnancy and for your child after the birth.
Also check with your state/county health department. They provide many services, including WIC, which does pregnancy checkups and food coupons for healthy foods during the pregnancy and for the child after birth.
Best Wishes,
Sue
