Well, Jews are not a race, that's for sure, and I'm quite sure that they are not referred separately from Caucasians, Blacks and Asians, as there are Jews all over the world and with all colours.

Judaism, in addition to being a religion, is an ethnicity and a nation too, as most of the Jews are originated from the same place- Israel (or Palestina, or Canaan, or whatever you call this area).
After the Diaspora of Babylon, Jews had to emigrate to all different parts of the world, and there are communities of Jews in Europe, Asia, America, Australia and Africa, when the Jews look like the natives (after long long years among them) but differ from them genetically.
Thus, while a Jewish Russian man and a native Russian man look all alike, the Jew has this little tiny gene that all Jews around the world share.

But then again, it is not a race, it is an ethnicity. The Jews' race is Semite.

I am a Jew and most of the answers here are incorrect or only correct partially and not completely. So I want it to be perfectly clear who we are.

The Jews are a people and a nation that practice their religion (Judaism). As a people, we have a history, language, culture, civilization.

A person from any race can be a Jew. A person is a Jew if his mother was Jewish or he converts to Judaism. Any person of any race can convert to Judaism and they do.

Jews come from all over the world - North and South America, Europe, India, Africa, Middle East, just about every place in the whole wide world.

Technically, being a Jew means that you practice the Jewish religion. Often times people use the term to describe people from The Holy Lands, if you will. People with a certain shape nose are often said to have a Jewish nose.

being of Semitic descent is a race, but that can include many people from the middle east and Mediterranean, not just Jews. The Jewish religion is not exclusive to one race.

It's a religion. It drives me crazy when people say "That's so Jewish!" about something they don't like. Why not just say "That's so Methodist!" or any other religion....how dumb.
