This sounds contradictory, but what you have to do to reach the high notes is relax -- don't try so hard. When you force it, your throat tightens up. So first thing is to relax. Second thing is to bring the sound up from your diaphragm, not your throat. That's easier to do when you relax, too. Are you taking lessons or studying with anyone? If so, you should know about diaphragm breathing. If not -- place your hands on either side of your chest, at the bottom of your rib cage, and concentrate on breathing out against your hands. Usually when people take a deep breath, they lift their shoulders, which does nothing at all, but cramps the chest. By breathing from the bottom of your lungs, using the diaphrgam, your shoulders stay down, your chest expands, and you can control your voice much better. This is the platform on which good note control depends.
Don't get nervous when you're performing. You're the one with the moxy to be up there. Everyone else is just sitting in a seat because they can't do what you do. So enjoy, relax, and share yourself with them.
Good luck -- and break a leg!

Don't try to reach high notes without doing some warm ups.
Try laying flat on the floor you will find your self breathing properly
When you are singing if you are using your diaphragm properly your shoulders won't go up when you breath.
Try to get some help from a professional as to how to go into your head tones easily.
This may sound silly but join a church choir or a gospel band if possible, they usually have excellent musicians and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

Start doing some breathing exercises that helps to expand the lungs. Learn to breath from your diaphram so you get maximum power and control over your voice withour shouting. Do your vocal scales and exercises regularly. The more you practice it the better you will become. Lastly, warm up your voice before you sing. All professional whether athletes, musicians, actors or singers do warm-up exercised before they perform.

Regarding being nervous. That's fine. If you're nervous, it means that you care enough about the performance and your performance to get it right. Everyone gets butterfly's.

Rita, achieving a a approaches better point of understanding. by what do you propose? there are a number of stuff which you're able to do, some issues artwork for some and for others extremely some issues. an important one, that's probably between the main unknown to all of us is -- only -- to undergo in recommendations oneself. yet that may no longer the remembrance that one thinks -- with the aid of fact human beings do no longer see themselves or experience themselves. that's self understanding, to triangulate the 2nd to redirect those divided wills right into a indivisible desirable. And respiratory -- breath is extremely significant. there is greater, yet this might contain a brilliant sort of writing.

Sing "above" the note. Sing up in your head. And breathe using your diaphram, not your chest. Takes alot of practice. But I (an Alto) have been able to get to a high C doing this, so you can too!

When it comes to expanding your voice range keep in mind that it takes A LOT of time!! It took me 2 months to be able to project those high notes but I still have a few issues. Don't be so nervous (when you get nervous you tend to get tense and that messes up your voice) even if you do mess up, people won't know (they dont have a script in front of them). PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, then Go out and give it your all onstage!! I wish you the best of luck!!!!
