I mean he's pro-choice, pro-gay rights and doesn't usually look too kindly on the rights of gun owners...
does this guy have a real chance with conservatives?

well... just so we know... I agree with some of the ideas he has... but it just seems that many conservatives would be very opposed to him...
I'm not big on the guns thing... though...
but, I think everyone was impressed with his post-9-11 leadership... but is that enough? I don't know?

I think Giuliani will have this election in the bag if he is selected for the ticket. All he has to do is make a few political ads showing him hugging an NYC firefighter with some smoke in the background and he's in for sure. I'm a liberal but I would consider voting for Giuliani, I think he's a good person and genuinely cares for the American people. That was evident after 9/11 and even Katrina! Our current leadership could take a lesson or two from him.

Some of these answers, especially "the decider", should just shut up and go away. People like you are dangerous. You call 9-11 a dreadful MOMENT? Someone else said just put 9-11 aside and move on.
At least Giuliani stepped up and held the city together. What did you do? I'm somewhat conservative but not a one issue voter like on abortion. I also do not mind if he is pro-Israel or anti gun, pro gay, whatever. He can beat Gore, Kerry, Hillary all rolled into one.

Giuliani has develop right into a punchline and is now not a potential candidate in any respect. you may ask him what he had for dinner and he'd hit upon a thanks to boost 9/11. What did he fairly attempt this day that replaced into so major besides. It replaced into the police and firefighters that were the heroes. he's the single which took the credits. Thank god human beings have figured him out and now not take him heavily. i'm very much shocked that he hasn't dropped out of the race yet.

He's also anti-black. He is responsible for several innocent blacks being gunned down by the cops. He turned a blind eye to the police brutality and in fact encouraged it with a wink and a nod.
The day before 9/11 he was a mayor who many NYers did not care for. He was on his last leg with us. But like Bush, he benefited from 9/11.
I did not vote for him, I do not like him, but he did make a good showing at 9/11, his words and manner were appropriate for that dreadful moment and it made us feel safer for a short while.
But any mayor would have felt and said the same things. Condolence is not enough to be a good statesman
I think it is dangerous for him to be President of the US. He's a very strong Jewish supporter and I won't be surprise if they have him in their back pocket.
If the republican set votes for him, it would be stark proof of their hypocrisy. He is the mayor who publicly insisted that he and his lover had a right to entertain themselves in the house where his wife and son lived!! And they are not Mormons
His would be a worse administration than Bush.
He is smarter than Bush and may be able to do more harm to this country than stupid Bush has done.
Do not vote for him.

No biggie. Look at his record of governance in New York City. Playing like he didn't want to before Dinkins was elected then out under a cloud, then just waltzes in and ' captures ' the office. Then, after 9/11 given an ' international ' post to save face and get out of general attention. Anybody votes for that clown, deserves what he gets. And let's don't go into that former Federal Prosecutor bit. Powerful criminals still hold sway in and out of government. As far as the federal government goes, it is so in name only.

No. Outside of New York He does not have a political base, and is widely mistrusted.
His Chances of being elected President is less than that of Al Gore, or George Bush again.
Peopel think it's time to let 911- go . It;s over with, it's sad that so many were killed. It's bewillering that os many were made millionaires because they lost someone> Why?, and mush of 911 would haunt Rudy Giuliani were he to run.
Also I do no tpersonally think an Italian heritage man tha tclose to mob ties could stand a chance.

I don't think candidates from New York fair too well in national elections. Rockefeller and LaGuardia ran in national elections time and again but failed miserably.
