To solve a problem like that:
2x-3+4x = 10 (i'm not sure if this is your answer but I'm using it as an example)
First combine the x's on the left side to get 6x-3 = 10
Then add 3 to both sides to cancel the 3 on the left side. You will not have 6x = 10.
Divide both sides by 6 to isolate the x. You will now have x = 10/6 (or 5/3)

2x + 4X - 3
6x - 3
3(2x - 1)
That is how you simplify the equation. The other answers here are wrong or incomplete. I could do more if I knew for certain it said to set to the equation to 0.
Example 2x - 3 + 4x = 0
Then it would go like this.
6x - 3 + 3 = 0 + 3
6x = 3
x = 3/6
x = 1/2

I think there is something missing in your question, is there? Because an expression cannot be solved. There needs to be an equal sign in there to make it an equation, which can be solved.
This is because the expression 2x - 3 + 4x can equal to anything, and there can be no answer.
Assuming you pressed + accidentally instead of =
2x - 3 = 4x
Minus 2x from both sides,
2x = -3
Divide both sides by 2,
x = -1.5
Or if you were trying to simplify the expression you have given,
Combine like terms to make it 6x - 3
Hope I helped

That's not an equation. To be able to solve it, it has to be something like 9x + 3 -2x = 32
As it is, you have to simplify it by combining like terms
So it would be 6x -3
Does that help?

i don't know where he got the -2x cuz the 4x and the 2x are both positive so that makes it 6x-3 it can't be solved cuz you don't have another set of equation so if you had an = sign then you would have a solvable equation.

6x - 3........u can't solve for x because it is an expression not an equation....that means there is no equal sign..u can't just make one up..so u would leave it like....6x - 3

in order for me to completely answer this there has to be an egual sign and an answer. i can simplify it though.
2x-3+4x
6x-3
all you have to do is combine like terms

that's not even an equation. an equation has something on one side of an equal sign and something else on the other. hence the word "EQUATION"!
