I'm sending a letter to a friend in Ohio. I'm not sure how much it weighs, but there is about 5 pieces of paper in it. It's also in an average size envelope, I don't know the length or width measurements. Should I use 1 .39 cent stamps,or 2?

Five sheets of paper (8 1/2" x 11") plus a small envelope will USUALLY go for 39c, but if the paper is heavy, it could go over the one ounce limit. In that case it would be delivered, but your friend would have to pay 24c to get it, and it might be delayed a day or two. If it's urgent, put 63c on it. If it's four normal-weight pages plus a regular envelope, 39c is definitely enough, but five puts it right on the edge..
