It could well be that the downloads are causing the computer to slow down.
This could be that the downloads are using most of the resorces on the computer...or that the downloads have viruses or spyware/adware infecting them,

Run a full virus and spyware check and see if it makes things run faster.

Do your self a want and study the solutions in solutions. I see that many human beings have your problem and a rather good variety of sturdy replies have been published. ok, now one greater time, (pay interest all human beings), with none doubt, you will desire to do a DEFRAG suitable-speedy!!! You look to have a late variety comp. so do it in one day, and get rid of your demonstrate saver from commencing, only to verify reason it may take some hours. Empty your recycle bin first (no think approximately defragging junk, is there?) additionally, carry out a little maintenance first, like registry cleanup (there are a number of stable unfastened courses accessible, spyware sparkling up, etc. while executed, do a cold boot, no longer a heat boot. what's the version you're saying? nicely, worry-free expensive Mr. Watson, a cold boot is booting up after a power off. A heat boot is a reboot, (and not utilising a power off). After a minimum of 8 hours sleep, turn on the beast, watch the form and shop that smile on your face something of the day ;-)

Your sis down loaded spy ware dear. Keep her off of there. You'll have to run all your scans and find the problem. There's no telling what you got. You have to monitor your PC more careful.
Go to tools- Internet Options-General-delete all history. Make sure all programs are closed- Go to start-run-type in prefetch-OK-edit-select all-file-delete. Go back to start-run-delete prefetch-type in %temp%-OK-Edit-select all-file-delete. That will clear all the files you have worked with. Make sure to run all your protection. I hope you're equipped like you should be. If this doesn't work, call your PC manufacturer. Good Luck! Oh yes, Last but not least, If you know anything about the Registry Editor ,go in there and delet any unfamiliar thing, program that you know shouldn't be there. Now if you've never done this I'd advise you not to mess in there w/out being walked through it with a professional or with me. If you don't know what you're doing you could **** up your entire PC get up. You get there by start-run-type in regedit. You'll be on your way. If you're not familiar w/ it call Microsoft. I learned it a year ago from them. Programs you uninstall or that are installed, hidden in programs, will stay there. You have to go there to uninstall them to be totally removed. If the programs or spy ware or corrupted, they'll still sabotage programs.

Downloading will slow your computer down. Also all the programs running in the background will slow you down as well. Then there are virus's which will really slow down your computer. Your internet connection will affect it too, DSL, cable or dialup. Dial up being dog slow these days. I would shut down all the unnecessary programs running and do a good virus scan.
