For the longest time, I had double-zero plugs in my ears, and over the summer, I decided to go to 7/16ths. My ears tore slightly more than the normal micro-tears, and my ears became infected. Subsequently, I let them heal, but I'm having trouble getting my ears back to standard size (18gauge). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make this happen?

Nope, not without the assistance of a plastic surgeon.
Especially with the tears and subsequent infection and scarring. You can let them rest for a few months, but depending on how big your holes were, how long you had them, the extent of any scarring, they may or may not shrink significantly.

Mine were at 7/16" for a year or so and I left them out for a couple months and they shrunk down to about a 6. Stiil huge if you want to wear tiny studs, but you can still wear anything with a french hook.

Personally, I found that I much preferred the look of the earlets, so I re-stretched them...at 5/8" now and very happy. I like that I can have them plain, or put rings through them, or loop strands of seed beeds through them for an organic dangly look.

the scale they use to pierce that's a sixteen or 18, the actual stud they put in there is an 18 or 20 gauge. They try this so it heals to the scale of the stud and its much less painful.

Um...I don't mean to scare you...but I've heard it takes plastic surgery...but that's only what I've HEARD. I'm not sure.
