My step dad gave me a penny that was handed down to him, and it's smaller than a fingertip.......it is an actual penny with the year 1964 on it....could anyone tell me what it might be worth or does anyone know anything about this kinda coin?

As most have said here, it is a novelty item. Actually the cent through the dollar are/were available. They have been around for many years, but had it's height in the 1960's along with the Lincoln cent that had old Abe smoking a pipe, or a state outline next to Lincoln, as well as other images. The new craze now or was, is currency that is real small. I have a set from a dollar up. It is just a fun item to show around. I believe both types got the nickname inflation money. The only real value is what it means to you.

It isn't worth anything, it's not a real penny. It's a novelty item.

Do you know how you can make a dollar bill that looks like one but it's twice as big? Well, that's what someone did with the coins, but in reverse, and sold them as play money.

This is a novelty piece, made to sell to the public. It really has very little value, probably really couldn't sell it to anyone for much, if anything. Try going to www.ebay.com and doing a search for 1964 mini penny and see if any one is trying to sell what you have.
