I am from Singapore, welcome to our country. If you are planning on working here, you can know more people from your workplace, no worries, or just hang out at clubs, or drop me an email and i can show you around. Cheers

I second the link that unnga gave.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about meeting people upon arrival since Singapore is a GREAT place to meet new people. Just go out and you'll be tripping over fellow expats :o). Seriously, no matter where you're from, what your doing here, what your accent's like, etc. etc, it's hard NOT to meet new people - so the social thing is really not an issue. That's coming from one of the 5 or so black people in the country *giggle*.

Take it easy since you will be moving here.

Just keep your doors open; most of the time Singaporeans would try to make you at home. Join your colleagues/schoolmates for gatherings, be friendly, etc the same way you would make more friends in Oz.

Pls,pls assimilate. It's annoying when people dont integrate into our culture and they look down upon everything Singaporean.
