One has to define the term 'Golden Age' whether quantitatively or qualitatively. I will use 'Golden Age' to mean an time with excessive or above average world political influence and standard of living of citizenry. If I were to consider a time when the American standard of living was greatly above the world mean and a time when America enjoyed great world poltical influence, I would consider the time period of the 1950s as a key time. I would look for supporting data on a GDP/citizen basis as compared to the world. I would also bracket the time period so that I did not include any recesssions such as 1957-58.

Just some thoughts

I believe the golden age of USA has been the Eisenhower period after II World War 1952-1956

The USA was in its prime as a world power although Russia had tested an atom bomb in 1949.

During the Eisenhower period the reign of America was absolute and all powerful.
America had the respect or envy of the whole world.

While we may not have a "golden age" per se....we did have a "gilded age". Kind of a fake golden age.

There is a book about it by Mark Twain.

1890's I think.

No the USA missed it completely. Somebody described it as the only major country to go from barbarism to decadence without becoming civilised.

Lacking the ability to predict the future, I'd say 1941-1950.

We have had some very special and spectacular times but it's not over yet. The best and the worst is yet to come.
