Why when i sing finish a song, there will always be phlegm in my throat that i feel like coughing out?

mucus forms a protection moisturising layer on the vocal cords and many people have this problem.

mucus on the vocal membranes is one of the biggest problems that professional singers have to deal with. they reduce it by not smoking, drinking too much coffee etc.

they usually stick to herbal teas like chamomile.

yo my also want to warm your voice up by humming and singing softly before you sing properly, this will help clear your throat

maybe that contributes to you sound. A lot of "breathy" singers i know complain of the same thing. Personally, I play an instrument, so i do not sing so i do not know

Maybe you should smoke less or not sing around smokers?

i think its cause of lack of air i get that too....!! unless we both suck at singing... like that other guy said!! lol :)
