The U.S. wants control of Iraq's oil. And they don't care what it costs to get it. And their(the administration's) friends and family are making money from this war.

Iraq is part of national security ..... First they poses large quantities of the oil reserves , the government doesn't want to take over a poor country especially a Muslim one it would be committing harakiri , but they do want a friendly country to do business .. to be able to buy the oil that we need , what drives our economy and lives . Now if the government would move out at this time it leaves the country in a vacuum for extremists take power like it happen in Iran , and that would make enemies of them and a lose of supply ,or if not ,at there mercy of oil cost , and that is why the government is adamant on keeping control over the situation , for national interest .

Coz the Iraq adventure is a desperate attempt of Bush to boost the troubled/declining U.S economy. There`s no "magic" that Bush can do domestically, to improve it. Iraq is his chance.

after invading Iraq for now pointless reasons since there were no ties to terrorist nor it appears any weapons of mass destruction we are in a lose face situtation, we thumbed our nose at the world and did it our way now we have to succeed or risk losing even more face with the world as far as being concerned only with our money goes when you are an oil rich country you do not need to sell it to one customer
