Because they know it's wrong. All that would mean is that the soldiers that did lose their lives, will have lost them for nothing. Isn't it a coincidence that they started that one year before the elections? Before that, they never said much about it. A majority of Democrats voted to go to war also. Did you know that? I'm not for the war, but I am a strong believer in finishing what I started. Besides, it's not up to the Democrats or the Republicans or even the President. In case you aren't aware of this, President Bush has left this decision up to the commanding officers looking over the operation. They are the professionals, so once they decide that we have applied enough stability for Iraq to function on it's own, then we will withdraw troops. It's not up to the President. I wish people would get off of his back about it.

First of all, Democrats will not take over until January.
When they do, you must realize that Iraq is a quagmire. US troops are so embedded right now that it will take many months to disentangle themselves from this mess.
Now military officials are saying at least 4 to 6 months before any drawdown of troops. Don't blame the Democrats what the Republicans started and hyped up for the last 3+ years.

Holy mackerel! The Democrats don't take office until January. That isn't even enough time for briefing and sorting out what is true and what is fiction.
And no, they didn't promise, the Republicans made that promise for them as a campaign propaganda ploy.

I think Bush has something to do with that....he is the Commanfer in Chief in charge of the military. Also, they have not taken office yet.

couldn't do in 5 yrs. Besides, they're not officially in office
