Gold is naturally a yellow color. White gold is an alloy of gold and another metal. Here's what I found online:

White gold is an alloy of gold and some white metals such as nickel, silver and palladium. White gold can be 9k, 10k, 12k, 14k, 18k, or any karat up to 24k. For example, 18k yellow gold is made by mixing 75% gold with 25% other metals such as copper and zinc. 18k white gold is made by mixing 75% gold with 25% other metals such as nickel, silver and palladium. So the amount of gold is the same but the alloy is different.

How To Make White Gold

LOL. No. Actually, I had to look up white gold myself.

Gold, natural gold, which lends its name to the color, is an element. Without any impurities, gold has very specific elemental properties, including atomic weight and number, boiling point, melting point, etc.

White gold is an alloy. An alloy is made of separate elements that combine together. White gold is natural gold mixed with a white metal (another element) - silver, platinum. The result, white gold, is called a compound. Compounds, like elements, have specific boiling and melting points, which are dependent on the constituent metals. Unlike elements, compounds can be separated back into the base elements. Also, since white gold can be made with any white metal, the characteristics of a gold/sliver compound may be very different than those of a gold/platinum compound.

white gold is an alloy of silver and gold (consisting of more silver), being an alloy, it is obviously artificially mixed. And there is no way to "dye" a metal, yellow gold is gold colored gold. the gold you see at a jeweller's is not pure gold, but an alloy of mostly gold, some copper and silver. 24 carat gold is pure gold, 18 carat gold is 18/24 gold and 16/24 some other metal

I have some kurdish friends who wear a stone called "feruz"(turquoise) set in yellow gold. I had never seen this before, only turquoise set in silver. set in gold it is remarkably beautiful and takes on a whole 'nother look. as for wearing any kind of jewelry myself, i just don't. i tend to "play" with it endlessly, twisting rings, hanging my thumbs on a chain around my neck, heck i don't even like to wear a watch (partially because i don't care what time it is, lol)
