A really good way to get rid of bags under your eyes, is to get 2 tea bags and dip them both in warm water apply them on your eye for 5-10 min (the longer the better). This technique really works!!! youll be surprise what two simple bags can do

Whew...something I'm an expert at.
There are products that work. I myself have a terrible pit-under-eye problem, or at least I did. All products that I suggest are from Mary Kay...
First, to help in the long run you want to use the firming eye crème. It firms up the skin around the eye but it also lightens the color of the circles and provides luminescence. You see some change immediately, but it is the long-term benefits that are really impressive. To cover up the circles, you would want to use a concealer under your foundation, put on foundation, and the use the Facial Highlighting Pen. It has special light reflecting pigments that optically lift the shadowy area.
No one ever believes I had under eye pits. I don't even need the makeup cover up techniques anymore after using the firming eye crème either. For more info visit the website below and you can actually call me with any questions, my number is on it.

Don't laugh, but if it is just puffiness from a long night before you can take a tiny bit of Preparation H gel, make sure you do NOT get it in your eyes, and pat it on the puffiness. It is supposed to help with the swelling. Makes sense since that is what Preparation H is for - I read the tip in several make up tip articles from Hollywood makeup artists.

Try this:
Slice one small piece off of a potato, and cut the slice in half. Put each slice under your eyes and leave them under your eyes for 20 minutes
In a hurry, Preparation H will take the swelling down, but doesn't do anything for discoloration, if you have any.

the best ideas are either makeup or just starting to sleep earlier. sleeping earlier will help a lot because that is the reason for black bags under eyes.

Use cucumber slices atop your eyes for about an half an hour or if you have more time an hour, not to mention a good nights sleep.
