Assume a world population of 6.1 billion. "Kinda packed in" could mean about a 0.5mx0.5m square; or 0.25 square metres. That means we need a total of 6.1billion x 0.25 = 1.525 billion square metres. The square root of 1.525 billion is 39,051m or 39.051km which is 24.27 miles. So a square area less than 25 miles on each side will do it.

If you prefer a circular area, it would be about 27.5 miles in diameter.

The Isle of White,

The isle is the smallest ceremonial county in England (when not including Bristol or the City of London) at 380 km². Thats twice the size of Monaco, and a third larger than Litchenstein.

but if the population grows any more we would have to move to Andorra, at 468 sq km, but its far too mountious to be comfortable, and only in Summer, whilst the Isle of White is much more flatter.

Good question. Does that count the people drowning in the ocean? What you need to do is figure about an18-24 inch square per person, find the population of the Earth and multiply. Multiply quickly because the population changes constantly.

The Isle of Wight - there was a TV advert years ago which pointed this out. I think it was for the Halifax bank before Howard. I believe it because it was on TV.

You could get them three times over into Loch Ness but I think Nessie might complain.
