Christmas is just another day for me...even though our family celebrates it I really hate the whole advertising thing that happens...I like the gathering of loved ones and the specialness of christmas but the whole gift buying thing is out of control and is ruining the holiday for me.

I am. It seems to get earlier and earlier every year. I noticed Christmas items before October in the stores this year. I read in a consumer magazine that said stores are putting them out earlier and earlier in hopes that they will profit more. The sales have been down in past years so they try to get a head start for a longer purchasing time. There is always a reason for everything that is done. I doesn't mean you or I have to like it. It STINKS!!! Nothing seems to be special anymore. I miss the old days. Have a blessed evening!

Hell yeah, they've got christmas lights, decorations, trees etc up everywhere, some places they've been up for weeks. I hate christmas, I can't stand the millions of people trawling around the shops with bagfulls of useless gadgets. But the worst thing of all is the music - I actually can't spend more than a few seconds in a shop if they are playing christmas music. It makes me want to throw myself on the ground, cover my ears and scream like a 2 year old!

Yes, I'm very bothered. Three weeks ago I was at Walmart,
before Halloween. I couldn't even get through the isles, because of all the boxes of Xmas stuff. My grandchildren don't even know what Christmas is, except they get LOTS of toys. Believe me I've asked them. Even the 2 year old. What has society done to the future generations?

No it doesn't bother me, I love to see the little kiddies so excited with all the build up to Christmas and seeing their little faces in shops when they see the Christmas decorations is so sweet, I love this time of year, maybe its because my birthday is 3 days before Christmas that I love it so much.

Surprisingly, they switched on the Christmas lights in my town tonight. Not many shops were open though...maybe it's due to more people shopping online.I felt a bit sad and disappointed really...I know it's early, but our lives seem to be getting more and more distant and insular.

I know and the houses that have deco. up seems as if they're bragging and boasting about their decorations, and how much money they have to spend! Does anyone care about Thanksgiving, what was it not important about how the pilgrims feasted and they decided to skip to Christmas, which i don't think involved anyone from our past.
