Use volume formula for a cylinder:
V = pi r² h

Hi. If you are confused, you need the area of the base (3.14 times 9 squared, or 3.14 x 81) then multiply this answer by the height of 47 feet. Hope this helps.

think of a cylinder as a stack of lots of circles on top of each other...find the area of the circle, and times it by the height to find the volume.
area of circle=pi r^2
(get it? HAH! pies are square...pi r^2....hahahah)
then times by 47. for the correct unit, make sure it is ft^3, (cubic feet)

Area of base = pi r^2 = 3.14x 9^2 = 254.34
Volume = 254.3 x 47= 11,954 cu ft
