I lost my baby red eared slider turtle on 11/14/06 on my desk when I wanted it to walk and I took it out of its cage its was on my desk then i was paying to much atention to my computer and 15 minuts later I didn't see it.How long will it live without water.I have a heater thats atached to the house could my turtle fell trough the heater or could it be a little hole on my door could it crawled out.I have no dogs or cats so nothing ate it.Can I still find it even if it will past 5 days or more and will it live? How long should I wait until I get a new turtle? How long can it live without food and water?Where are good hiding spots that turtles can reach? Will a turtle move from the hiding spot because my turtle usaly just hinds under its shell when its in its cage and only move when I grab it or hold it?How long until my red eared slider dies?If it has no water can it still live for a few days?If I checked all over the desk I lost it where is a nother place it may go?what spots it may hide?

Oh I'm soo sorry , turtles will not return to their cage when they get thrusty or hungry and you've probably lost him completly. I had two yabbies that did that, they wanted to be adventurous, the first one I found a day after he went missing, tucked up behind the washing basket STILL ALIVE, he was pretty dried out, so I put him back in the water, but he died the next day. He gave me a shock whilst doing the washing, you dont usually check for yabbies - dangerous spiders yeah but not yabies. The other yabbie just went walk about, but didnt get far, as I found him under the sofa next to his tank. It is sad, I would probably get another turtle now, and if (and I say if) the other one is found, then that's a bonus. I say check behind everything, start in one room, possibly the bathroom because of the constant moist air, then the bedroom because of the warmth, I hope he hasn't fallen down the heater vents. Good luck and keep high hopes for a safe return.

Oh i feel so sorry for you. I know just how you feel. When i was about 8, i got my first turtle. It was a painted turtle. It happend just like you did, but i found him in my bathroom the next day and he was well....dead.

I just recently got my new turtle. He is a red eared slider also. He got out a few days ago when my cat knocked down the cage. I foud him under the refridgerater. Check everywhere small. Check under you keyboard also. He will hide in everyplace small like the couch or between furniture and under them. Just think like a turtle.

keep looking. i have lost my turtle before and tried looking for it. I was just about to buy a new when when i found it under my heater. it must have been like a week before i found it. it was fine and i still have it to this day. Try looking in small, warm, or dark places for it. It might also come out to sun so watch out for that. Good Luck!!!

Check your toilet. Turtles like water you know. But on the other hand it might be a ninja turtle and the time we speak is outside the streets and fight crime. Unfortunately, you will never find the truth... because ninja turtles never talks!! ahaa!

Hheehe! I read a book about a person who ate a turtle a year ago. Look under all the beds, cuboards, and other compartments. Good luck.

Very sad...I have a turtle story so horrible, it's inappropriate for this forum, so I won't reveal it. I guess check warm areas.

good luck hopefully it got outside cuz then it will find food and water on its own but if its in ur house i will probably die. if its cold out it will probably die too. pets are like little kids you have to PAY ATTENTION to them. if you cant do that u dont need a pet.
