Listen Kid have faith and confidence in yourslef. YES you can do it. Dont listen to whatever anyone has to say. If you believe that you can write a book at your age then nothing can stop you. You have a decision to make; it's either to give up or to try until you succeed. If you give up now it's not going to get you anywhere. But if you keep trying and trying and trying one day it will happen. If your not determined then that's not going to get you anywhere. So be strong have confidence and be determined. I know that writing a book can be really frustrating sometimes and your under stress. But if you take it easy for a while and put your mind, heart and soul in it then one day your dream will come true.
So remember be confident, strong, determine and have faith in yourself.
Good Luck :)

The good news is that young authors can make it ... sometimes.
Christopher Paolini started writing "Eragon" at the age of 15 (published by Doubleday and it's now a major film).
Flavia Bujor wrote "The Prophecy of the Gems" at 14 (published by HarperCollins).
And little Daisy Ashford wrote "The Young Visiters" at only 9, (published by Chatto & Windus and dramatized for TV in 2003).
Also at 9, Jayne Fisher wrote and illustrated a series of 12 picture books called "The Garden Gang" published by Ladybird.
So by all means give it a go ... but don't be too disappointed if you don't find success straight away; just keep trying ... I'm sure that all of the above needed huge amounts determination to reach their goals!
Meanwhile ... I suggest that you read, read, and READ! The more you read the better you're likely to write!

Sure you can write a book. I completely believe that you will successfully write it and you may get licky and be able to publish it. I know I wrote a book last year and I am 13 now and I have started another but I haven't really been working on it.
Keep trying and you will do great!

It may also be feasible that he wrote that handiest due to the fact he is recognized to be a jerk like that. Why could he must write the whole lot down, like maintaining a everyday magazine for one million 12 months WTF! What a dumb ***! lol And your pal the spouse, simply by and large wrote that again to get again at him and to exhibit that there's 2 part of each tale. She surely guessed on numbers , however i suppose she was once essentially the most sincere! LOL I suppose he made that letter, however now that all of us have learn it, he is the person who appears like an ***! hahaha He's a dork...if he needed to write that to his spouse...he ought to be doing anything mistaken...for reals!

I started writing a book when I was 11. I finished it at 13 and put it away. So I think you can do it. You'll just have to go back and fix any mistakes you may have made. Everyone makes mistakes though. Good luck!

Based on the fact that you didn't (intentionally) misspell or mispunctuate your sentence, and that you wrote "I'm 12 and writing a book," not "I'm twelve and I'm writing a book", I deem you fairly smart. However, based on the fact that you felt the need to ask this question, I deem you lacking in the confidence (and thus the willpower) required to finish your book.
Disregard people who tell you that you can do anything you want. Not true. You'll probably give up soon. Hopefully not, though. One step in the right direction: stop trusting random morons on Yahoo! Answers.
Good luck.

It is hard, but you can do it. Just be prepared for rejection. If you are really serious, and you take your book to publishers, don't expect the first one to love it and snatch it up. The key is to keep going and be open to constructive criticism. Also, let your family and teachers know what your ambitions are. They could be really helpful with advice. And, never stray from writing to writers you admire for advice as well. I'm sure they would love to help. Good luck and don't lose faith!

Actually, you could do it. Just keep a journal of your ideas & stories and don't get discouraged. Being 12, you proably have a lot a great ideas that an older, more jaded person might not have. You can be anything you want to be if you put your mind to it.

Probably not so soon but starting out so young is very likely to come with payoffs down the road. A lot of famous writers started out as children- The Brontes and Stephen King to name a few.
