Nobody, and nothing, and I wish this country would spend it's time worrying about other "minor" issues (fighting terrorism, health care, providing jobs, rising crime, stuff like that).

Some don't exactly see the debate in the gay marraige deal. The real debate is to have gay marriage a constitutional right, meaning it would take a lot of work to abolish that right. Some say that the idea of marriage is a joke (which it is since no one takes it serious anymore) and gay mariage is just another kick in the nuts to it.

I think that if homosexuals wish to merry, and they actualy listen to the deal, and not expect it to end within 3-4 years, then go ahead.

How exactly would anyone lose? In a world where there is so much going wrong...shouldn't people be more worried about actual problems (hunger, war etc) rather than creating a problem about gay marriage. If two people love each other why shouldn't they celebrate it? Imagine if people decided not to let people be christian> what an uproar THAT would cause...hmmm

Those who loose are those who pontificate that marriage is a union between members of the opposite sex. What they loose is a meaningless standard that I feel is sexist and self serving. No, I am not gay, I am happily married to a woman I have loved for decades.
I simply believe that everyone has the right to happiness and if a union between two people who care for and love each other angers others, that is too bad.

God in the Bible defines marriage between 1 man and 1 woman. We have no right to change that definition. When we start fooling around with the strict guidelines that are laid out for us by God in the Bible, EVERYBODY loses in the end. You have no absolutes and everyone winds up doing that which seems right in their own eyes.....just like in the days of Noah....I'm sorry, they still have their rights in society, but they should NOT be allowed to marry.

I'm NOT gay, but as I understand it it's this way: In some states gays are still not recognized as a couple. It's the "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" thing. As you may or may not know, couples share joint property rights. If there are kids involved, there's that issue. In states where gay marriage isn't accepted and /or gays aren't accepted at all, everyone--the gay people and kids,if any. The over-all rights just aren't the same.

No, it is not. perchance you have observed that the election hasn't taken place yet? it is at the back of interior the polls, it is all. the certainty that a proposition to deprive individuals of their Constitutional rights is on the California pollat all is an indictment of our government and our society ordinarily. It makes me ashamed to be a Californian.

I think some people are just scared of validating them, and saying it's ok. those people must believe that we'd be legalizing a "sin". However, drinking is legal and that's a "sin".
Heteros wouldn't be losing anything at all, so I truly don't know why it bothers them. that's a really excellent question...

I was molested as a child when I was so young I still believed in Santa. I hated queers for a long time. but now I have the love of God in my heart and I feel that if two people love each other then I think its OK to make it legal.

I would say that certain people would lose the ability to discriminate through legislation. They would lose the ability to deny something to an entire segment of society.
