One thing cats HATE, and that's the smell of vinegar. Try leaving bowls of it around, or spraying/sprinkling it around the fence.

And whoever said to leave aspirin in tuna for the cats, you are a sick person. Get some help.

I don't have the answer for you - but I certainly understand your situation. We have that too - with dogs.

We live in the country - very rural. Only 7 houses on the entire dead end road.

We too have a dog - BUT our poodle goes outside to do his business & is on a leash when he goes out. Our neighbors dogs - a pit bull - 2 minature dobermans - a small mutt and something else - come over & aggraviate our dog PLUS they poop everywhere! They bark all the time.

The animal control in (this) rural area won't do anything UNLESS & UNTIL someone is bitten. Sad huh?

The neighbors don't seem to care. PLUS their dogs dig holes in my yard!

GRRRRRRR. Guess I'm just venting. Thanks for the outlet.

I'll follow this question for a resolution for my visitors as well.

Mow your lawn, put out a motion detector sprinkler system that will come on when the cats come in your yard.

have had a similar problem. the cats were pooping in the dirt around the house. neighbors went ballistic when we tried to talk to them about it. we used landscape mesh and mulch. it worked well. i have never heard of cats using the lawn are you sure it'a not a dog or maybe geese?

Talk to the neighbor. As a nation, we do not communicate enough with one another to resolve problems. If that fails, call animal control. They will leave a cat trap to cage the animal and then remove it. If she loves her cat, she will keep it in her yard.

A scatter gun is pretty effective, but you have to stand watch. A pitbull is also effective but it's liable to chew up kids as well. Best bet is a can of tuna fish laden with asprin. Asprin wont cure a cats headache but it sure does give them one. Anyurisims that is.

Try putting some mothballs around where the cats go to the bathroom, I know they can't stand the smell of them.
