Do you think the media has made these elections that way?...should they be party-centered instead?

Yes, they should be party centered. Why? Because as it is now. If Bill Gates wanted to be President he would be President. He has the money. Gates could spend 20 times the total of both Democrats and Republicans have spent to win any office.
As is it now Democrats represent the working class. Republicans represent the wealthy and the Corporations. It's pretty simple to decide which class you are.

I think all elections SHOULD be candidate-centered. Part of the problem is party- dominated politics. There is no mention of parties in the Constitution and Jefferson thought they were a bad idea.

If it's good enough for Jefferson it's good enough for me.
