What do you think is one of the worst events EVER to happen?

I think it was the Holocaust(sp?) I am learning about it in school... and reading NIGHT by Elie Weisel... It terrifies me;; Hitler's "final solution"... I actually had a NIGHTMARE about it. He wiped out millions of Jewish fellas... and could be next generations! worst nightmare i've ever had... Well anyways what do you think is one of the worst?

Mass genocide is one of the worst events to happen in history. It doesn't matter if it's the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide, or the events that took place in Rwanda in the early 90s.

So many bad things have happened in history, it's hard to choose.

The Holocaust is the most recent terrible event, but other great monuments to human's stupidity are World War I (idiotic generals sending thousands to die for 10 yards of terrain), the destruction of the Americas by the Europeans, and other disasters like the fall of the Roman Empire.

Lots of people died in the camps. Lots of people died in WWII. Two Million Russians died only at the Battle of Stalingrad. Twenty Millions Russians alone died in WWII.

Those six million killed in the camps were primarily Jewish but a great number were also political dissedents, gypsies, homosexuals, the crippled and Nazi enemies. They don't often mention that though....

Yes, the Holocaust was bad but there is also the Armenian Genocide, the killing fields, Stalin's gulags, ethnic clensing in Croatia, the slaughter of Native Americans during westward expansion, Spanish Inquisition, Hussein's Iraq, China's "Great Leap Forward", American slavery....there are many dark periods of history. The Holocaust is just one of many and not the largest.

I feel that WWII was the worst event ever. SO much hate has come from it, such as the Holocaust, the Cold War, nuclear Weapons, and the pointless killing of mass numbers of civilians and young men and women, let alone the children. So many bad things have spawned from it, and the world would defiantly be a better place if it never happened.

The revolution of 1848...

Not too many people realize the problems this cause...

Basically, Frederick William IV was offered a crown to unify germany, but denied it saying it was "from the gutter" and he would not accept the crown of the people...

This led to germany being unified by Bismarck in 1871-->he started franco prussian war and started to make tensions rise in europe....

WWI was the culmination of these tensions....and WWII was a result of reforms of WWI

and then of course the cold war, as split relations with russia....and vietnam...and all that....it all stems from that stupid king

Hell yeah this one time I jumped off the mattress after no longer shifting for like sixteen hours then fainted as i became into taking my ralph lauren polo shirt out of the closet and that i ripped the collar off as I fell. Then later on while i became into at Burger King I bit into my burger and each thing got here out of the different section. Oh and additionally I watched the Expendables that day which became into this way of enable down. i assumed it would be the main badass action picture ever even with the undeniable fact that it became out to be extraordinarily crap. with the intention to respond to your question, confident.

I do like that you asked about "one of the worst events." I would have to agree about World War II though if the Depression hadn't happened it wouldn't have happened. In other words, history is all connected.
