anybody out there got thier comp killed by limewirte? they say that they dont spread or host spyware and all that other crap but i hear bad things, how about this new frostwire, they say that its always gonna be free, sort of a back up plan for when limewire tanks, anyway would it be a bad idea to download iether of them?

I think I got some viruses from the free limewire before. I dont know if it would be different if you pay for a year or not. Somone said downloading music and videos is fine but nothing else. Havent tried anything else.

I have Limewire but I haven't downloaded the spyware.

if you download something that allows unauthorized file sharing its not going to turn out good. the file exchanges are unsupervised. its very easy to get a virus or for some to hack your computer. by downloading somethign they posted your allowing them to transfer anything that they put there into your computer. if that happens to be a virus or spyware or something of that sort your giving them basic full view and use of your computer. if your downloading a filesharer from different people you need to be seriously careful. its very easy for someone to hack your computer and download spyware onto there. and once they do they have complete control of your computer
