Usually misdemeanors will not keep you from getting a job. Most jobs only ask for felony convictions. Tell your friend to put out aps or write a resume. Best way to get past the record is to be honest .

How good a job are you trying to find? There are jobs say...working in shipping departments at clothing distribution centers that start around $9, which isn't great but they do give raises regularly. Places like that generally have decent insurance, and 401K plans too. A misdemeanor isn't that awful. I don't see why your friend couldn't get a job most anywhere. A felony on the other hand, would make it difficult.

Your friend can always start up their own business at home. They'd be their own boss. They'd have tax advantages (significant deductions are possible). Let me offer an idea with a young company that has grown to 126 countries in their first year. People will save money and help the environment with cleaner air. Take a look, it's about 15 minutes long. If it makes sense, it's easy to contact me.
