Indeed, the number of neutrons in Bromine (79.904 amu) is 45.

The AMU is given as a decimal because it is the average AMU of a mole of Bromine atoms(a really lot of atoms). On the Periodic Table round the given AMU and you will have the most commonly occurring isotope (atoms of the same elements with different numbers of neutrons).
