It's called Stockholm Syndrome, or at least that's what it's called in war when one is taken as a POW (prisoner of war), and starts to feel sympathy/concern/compassion for their captors.

stockholm syndrome-it's when the victim starts to sympathize with his/her attacker and lets him off the hook basically. they feel sorry for the person who attacked them.
