It is a metal circle with a metal piece through it and a metal tip that you sort of "twang" with your finger while you hold the instrument by your mouth.

There must be a way to play tunes with it, I just don't know how!!
Also, if anyone knows the correct name for this, I would love to hear it as the phonetic pronunciation I have is only in Sicilian dialect.
